Getting started

Upload your first CSV

Import a catalog from a CSV file in 10 minutes.

6 min read

CSV is the fastest way to get a lot of products into Noobit. If you don't have a connected store, if your supplier sends you lists in CSV or Excel (save it as "CSV UTF-8" first), or if you're migrating from another system, this is the way to go.

Before you start

Noobit accepts UTF-8 CSV files delimited by commas, semicolons or tabs — it detects which on its own. Decimals can use a comma or a period. Maximum size: 10 MB per file, on every plan. If your CSV is bigger, split it by brand or by product family.

Use the templates
Download a sample template from noobit.ai/en/plantillas. There are 3 templates, already mapped (simple products, variable products, price update).

Columns Noobit recognizes

You don't need to rename your columns. The detector accepts these common aliases:

EAN / GTIN
ean, ean13, barcode, codigo_barras, gtin, ean_code
SKU
sku, ref, referencia, reference, codigo, cod_articulo
Name
name, nombre, title, titulo, product_name
Brand
brand, marca, fabricante, manufacturer
Price
price, precio, pvp, regular_price, precio_venta
Sale price
sale_price, precio_oferta, oferta, precio_rebajado. If it's lower than the price, it becomes the current price and the other one stays as the was price.
Cost
cost_price, coste, cost, precio_coste, precio_compra, tarifa
Stock
stock, stock_quantity, existencias, cantidad, unidades
Weight
weight, peso, peso_neto. Just the number, in your store's unit (usually kg): Noobit doesn't convert units.
Category
category, category_path, categoria, categorias, familia
Description
description, descripcion, long_description
Image
image, image_url, imagen, foto, picture

Step 1: upload the file

01
Go to «Catálogo → Importar CSV» (Catalog → Import CSV)

Drag your file in or click to select it. If you like, set a default brand and category, then click «Previsualizar mapeo» (Preview mapping).

02
Review the mapping

Noobit shows the first rows and the column mapping it detected. Columns it doesn't recognize are saved by default as supplier data (they still reach the product record and the AI); you can also save them as an attribute, pass them to the AI as context only, or discard them.

03
Fix errors and warnings

A row with neither a valid EAN nor a SKU, or a badly written price, is an error: it blocks the import until you fix it in the CSV. Repeated EANs or empty names are warnings: you can go ahead, and Noobit tells you what it will do with them.

Images (optional)

If your CSV has image URLs, Noobit downloads them in the background once the import finishes, and they show up on the product records as they arrive. If you have the photos on your computer, upload them on the first screen, along with the CSV, as separate files or in a .zip: Noobit matches them by EAN, SKU or file name.

If a supplier blocks downloads of its photos, Noobit marks them as blocked and lets you know in «Importar CSV». From there you can retry them with «Reintentar las bloqueadas» (Retry blocked) or upload them yourself, as separate files or in a .zip.

Step 2: choose the strategy

If some products in the CSV already exist in your catalog (same EAN or SKU), you choose the strategy:

«Crear y actualizar» (Create and update)
The default. New products come in and the ones you already have are updated. Text that's already been written (name and descriptions) is kept, unless you tick «Sobrescribir contenido redactado» (Overwrite written content).
«Solo actualizar» (Update only)
For bulk corrections. New products are skipped. Ideal for changing your price list without creating ghost product records.
«Solo crear nuevos» (Create new only)
To protect what you already have. Products that already exist are skipped, and your live catalog isn't touched.

Step 3: import and follow the progress

Click «Importar N productos» (Import N products). If some brands or categories don't match yours, Noobit shows them to you first so you can decide. Then the import carries on by itself: products appear in the list as they come in, and you can follow the progress in «Pipeline → Cola de tareas» (Pipeline → Task queue).

The import only creates the master product record
Content generation, image processing and QA are separate pipeline stages. You can set them to run automatically after the import, or trigger them by hand.

Revert if something goes wrong

Every import is logged in «Catálogo → Historial imports» (Catalog → Import history). If one goes wrong, click «Revertir» (Revert): before it does anything, it shows you what will happen, and you choose what to undo. It permanently deletes the products the import created (except those already published to your store) and restores the previous data of the ones it updated: name, descriptions, price, category and weight. The photos, attributes and documents the CSV brought in stay. Your store doesn't change: what's published stays the same until you publish again.

Variations: with or without parent_sku

If your CSV has a parent_sku column, Noobit recognizes variable products automatically, in two passes: first it creates the parents, then it adds the variations. If you don't have that column, the variation detector analyzes names and SKUs after the import and suggests groupings, which you review in «Catálogo → Variaciones» (Catalog → Variations).
