Categories

Your category tree and how it translates to each store and output.

3 min read

Your categories live in your own tree, the one for your business, which doesn't depend on any store. Each category in the tree is linked to its equivalent in each store or output, and that's how it's translated when you publish or export. It's all managed in the category console, «Categorías» (Categories).

No guessing when you publish

When you publish a product, its category travels through its category mapping for that store or, if it has none yet, through a store category with the same name. If it isn't certain, Noobit doesn't guess: it publishes without that category and flags it for you to resolve. Categories are never matched by similarity or with AI.

The category console

In «Categorías» you see your tree side by side with each store and output, and the menu tells you how many are still to resolve. The ones that match by name are linked automatically, at no cost. For the rest, the AI can suggest mappings (this is charged) and you confirm them: it never activates anything on its own. If your store allows it, you can also create the missing category there.

You organize the tree: you can create, merge or retire categories. When you confirm a mapping to a category with a different name, Noobit learns the synonym for next time.

Products without a category

If a product comes in without a category, when it's written with the Noobit Engine (we turn it on with you when you get started), the best fit from your tree is chosen, without making one up. If none fits, it stays without one and you'll see it in «Categorías» so you can decide.

In outputs

In an output, the mapping is free-form: you type the value that channel expects. If you don't set one, the path from your tree is used.
